Games Design students from City College Plymouth have showcased their work to staff and student representatives from across the College at an event held in the College’s PL1 Restaurant.
The students have been developing The Office Block game and asked for collaboration with media, music, IT and business students to help them realise their vision and bring the game to market. Building working relationships with other students from a variety of subject areas emulates industry practices and gives students the opportunity to work outside of their usual learning environment to create something special.
Student Andrew Dunne, 20, who is acting as the creative lead for the game said: “I’m looking forward to working with our new contacts to develop our game to a professional standard.”
Games Design Programme Leader, Jo Cocksey said: “Today, these students demonstrated how far they have come on their journey and how professional and dedicated they are.”
The students aim to have completed their game by the end of May 2015 and will hold an official launch on Saturday 4 July to coincide with the College’s FEstival event. You can keep up to date with their progress by following their blog at www.theofficeblock.blogspot.co.uk.
